Here is a simple video on how to do frame animation with GIMP. Yes it is a common artist and it may as well come from a blog but by going through, step-by-step the simplistic of frame animation and showing how you may use layers in work really is shown here by Sarilain. Possible to also look up in Youtube, Vimeo, or any other video uploading site to check out tutorials and other tricks to do 2D animation. |
For 3D animation, a popular method for beginners or some who are more into Japanese culture go towards MMD. MMD stands for MikuMikuDance and it's a program where you can input 3D models and animate them frame by frame to dance or to do any other action, even posing. To make your own 3D Model to work for this program, downloading both PMD Editor and the PMX Editor is agreed to for all the options to appear in model making. Look online for any pieces or effects you wish to use, including MDE or MikuDanceEffects to shape your animations. This is just a simple tutorial series that anyone may follow. |

Despite this being a site to enter online courses for college or any extracurricular classes, this is a site that has from 2D art to 3D art. This article is a program that you can join to learn how to create your own characters to have move and breathe, come to life with the skills you place together in an animation. Even with a pre-requisite, you can join this class and if not you may join any other classes that are offered here at the academy. It's not a very informative site or class unless you wish to use your time to take it, but there is a certain lightness that it brings on to know that there are others that can help you with animation.
